POSITION: Curry County Advocate
NOTE: The current position we have available is for an employee who resides in CURRY COUNTY only. Applicants MUST be available to travel 3-5 days a week to train in COOS COUNTY upon hire for 2-4 weeks. Per diem for travel as well as lodging will be provided.
SCHEDULE: Full time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, paid lunch break, in addition to after hours in person crisis response. (Note: this position will include regular travel, employees are compensated for travel time and mileage)
COMPENSATION: $18+/HR DOE and available grant funds (could increase in the future with increased funding and program expansion) plus crisis response team hours compensation, flex time, and mileage reimbursement.
BENEFITS: Full medical and dental benefits after 90 days of employment, paid sick time, paid self-care & mental health days, two weeks paid vacation, federal holidays off and paid, plus minimum of one week PTO during December holidays, 12 weeks paid parental leave, as well as paid travel & training opportunities.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The SAFE Project is currently accepting resumes for our next Curry County Advocate position. Job duties will include scheduled hours 2-3 days per week at the ODHS in Brookings as well as intermittent travel between Brookings, Gold Beach, Port Orford, Langlois, and Coos County. May also include scheduled hours at one of our emergency shelter locations. Certified & Privileged Confidential Advocates provide trauma-informed and survivor-led safety planning, case management and direct services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, elder abuse, and teen dating violence.

Ideal candidates for a position with The SAFE Project must be able to pass a criminal background check that includes suitability to interact with minors determination, must be professional, comfortable with public speaking, highly driven, self-motivated, organized, work well in a team environment, and above all else have the ability to be empathetic, non-judgemental, and compassionate to the unique needs of survivors and their children. Applicants who have lived experience, volunteer history, and community service from organizations within Coos & Curry County are greatly encouraged to apply.
REQUIREMENTS:
☑️ The ability to pass a criminal background check and determination of suitability to interact with minors
☑️ Valid Oregon Drivers License and reliable transportation
☑️ Proof of car insurance and provide motor vehicle report
☑️ Ability to participate on the 24-Hour Crisis Hotline & Crisis Response Team
☑️ Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
☑️ Knowledge of basic smart phone capabilities including calendar apps, work chats, video conferencing, etc.
☑️ Availability to travel for work and training
